My Girlfriend and I are from Boise, and we went on vacation to various places in northern Idaho to do some mountain biking and trail hikes. We stayed 3 nights at this red lion, which by the way was not cheap by any means. We have stayed in a lot of hotels in the past and wow this was the WORST HOTEL experience ever! Aside from the old decor, and filthy smelly room, this was the loudest place to try and sleep and relax. I know most hotels have heavy hard closing doors to the rooms but man, these doors shake the entire hotel around them when they close. Aside from the doors making a huge racket, there was a mysterious sound coming from the room next to us that drove us up the wall! It started early in the morning and continued all day till late at night. Every day we were there. It woke me up in the morning and kept me up at night. It sounded like someone opening/expanding a large trash bag by yanking downward and forcing air into it. But extremely loud, and in 60 second to three minute intervals, and at first that's what I thought it was, just the cleaning lady's being obnoxious. But it continued all morning, all day and late into the night. It really took over my thoughts as I would try to investigate it and figure out what could be making that noise so often and non stop and only from one room next to us and not the other room. I came to the conclusion that the family staying next to us has to have an animal in a cage or something, and it is obsessively trying to get out, because I heard nothing else from this room, not a voice, wall bump, TV, nothing but this continuous racket. So after not being able to sleep soundly two nights because of this noise we asked if we could switch rooms for the last night we stayed there. The management said that was fine, and actually said there was an animal in that room, which was most likely the cause of the noise. So we pack up all our stuff which was a pain in the rear and move to the other side of the hotel. After the 5 trips it took to get our stuff all moved over we plop down on the bed of our new room and finally enjoy some peace and quiet. And then 2 minutes later I say, did you hear that? My girlfriend says, ugh ya... Not kidding, we hear the exact same sound in the exact same intervals coming from the room next to us. I was speechless, I could not believe it! So we left the hotel and went to dinner. What a horrible way to start our vacation. Looking back we should have spent a little more money and stayed somewhere in Coeur d'Alene. Luckily our other hotel experiences on this trip were much better than the red lion. If you can avoid this hotel I recommend you do. If you can not be prepared to have your senses rattled and your patience tested...

I really liked this place! The staff was very friendly. The rooms were clean and very nice. We were there off-season but the river side was still very beautiful. We hope to come back in the summer to be able to enjoy more of the amenities.

I stayed here for 4 nights in July/ August 2015. The staff is very friendly. They have a bar and a restaurant that are pretty good, when they are open. The view and location are 5 stars! They have a private beach on the river with boat/ jet ski/ paddle board rentals and a small cafe serving drinks and food. They also have Templin's marina for boaters. The rooms are clean, with A/C and decent linens. The pillows aren't very good. They all have flat screen TV's and most have views of the river. The upper floors have small balconies and the bottom floors open up to large patios with a nice large lawn area. The carpet in the rooms probably needs a deep, deep cleaning. I stayed in room #224. The room had a mini refrigerator, microwave and a coffee maker. It worked for my needs and wasn't nearly as bad as a motel 6. I read some people's reviews and found that most were expect ion a Hilton experience for a Motel 6 price. You get what you pay for, and I wanted this specific location for the marina. It wasn't too expensive and provided a place to sleep and A/C to get out of the heat (102 degrees). I would stay here again and recommend others to stay here. The location makes it worth it. However, this Red Lion is one season away from looking and feeling like a motel 6.

The views are incredible. The staff was very accommodating and gave outstanding customer service (especially Ember and Justin)! My room was decent, although I did notice a strange almost mildew/vinegary funk odor to it. Other than that, it was really busy and nearly impossible to find any vacancy within 15 miles. I almost had to sleep in my car until Ember went out of her way to find me a room. Justin checked me in. He was really nice and I noticed he kept great composure when drunk patrons were being annoying as they approached the front desk. He handled them like a champ.

The views are fantastic. The room we had, #176, had such dirty floors the residue was visible of our feet after a short time. A/C did not work that well. Restaurant was okay at best, nothing to write home about. The server was nice though.

Worst place. Checked in at 5:00 pm. Room wasn't ready and later a party outside of our room, which the staff did nothing about. Ghetto hotel. Children screaming after 11:00 pm as well. Do not recommend staying here ever.

Upon trying to check in, was told room wasn't ready...after giving my phone number to them they call a different number, twice...lucky it was my wife, a state away...and they're response was at least we got a hold of somebody...finally after getting a room they called the room phone saying computer was down, need to check In again...and the whole time being helped the receptionist ANNIE is clueless to why I was upset after driving for 5 hours to deal with this...worst customer service ever...and talk about deer in the headlights look when I told her the American flag needed retired due to being shredded...

We came to eat dinner with my mom who was staying. Her room smelled musty. We waited over ten minutes for drinks at the lounge, my diet coke was almost half empty when I got it. My moms drink was weak. We waited thirty minutes for someone to check on us and they only did ti bring our food. I never got the ketchup I asked for. They forgot abut the food I asked for to go. When it did come it was cold. My monte cristo was disgusting. I do not recommend eating here at all.

I'd give no stars if I could... my boyfriend's family took me out to eat there. He & his mom ordered fish & you could smell it coming to the table. All the other food was so greasy, bland & just gross. Service? What service? When his dad complained & asked for the supervisor, the server looked doe-eyed & smiled slowly like she was waiting for the joke's punchline. Their food is a joke & 2 out of the 5 people who ate got food poisoning. Avoid except for a drink.

Staff here is excellent. The woman at the lobby desk noticed I had booked a king bed but I was traveling with two small children and asked if I would prefer a room with two beds. They changed our room with no problem at all. Very professional and courteous. Rooms and bathrooms were clean. Both beds were comfortable. Heated pool is kept a little too cool for my taste but the hot tub was perfect. Hotel is a little bit dated but not much. Love the beach and the river views are very lovely.

This is a great hotel. Very clean, good beds, great rooms, excellent facilities, good restaurant, excellent staff. Not sure what motivated those who left the derogatory posts. We found none of them to be accurate.

The Thursday night BBQ is so good, it's no wonder they only do it once a week. The night I went they had all-you-can-eat ribs, chicken and beef for only $18.00. This included beans, corn, Cole slaw, and cake. The food was very good, and I made more trips than I want to admit. Definitely worth the price. If that wasn't enough, there was a live blues concert featuring the great Sammy Eubanks. As the blues echoed along the river, a flock of geese flew overhead, landing towards the sunset. It was a beautiful summer night in Idaho, the kind you have to experience to comprehend. I should mention the hotel, since others have. While the Red Lion is showing it's years, it is still nice and clean. My room was well kept and the bed was comfortable. The meeting facilities were adequate and the catered meals were good, but nothing spectacular. You can't beat the location, with many rooms overlooking the river and marina. It's a great place to stop for a family vacation. I give this 5 stars for the dinner and 3.5 stars for the hotel, for an overall score of 4.25.

I stayed here on a business trip recently. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The view of the river from the restaurant was beautiful. The price was very reasonable it was the winter so I'm sure it's the slower season. The only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars is the food was just okay not as good as I expected but everyone's different you may love it.

This hotel seemed to have what we needed and in good condition. Started out ok, decent room size and seemed quiet. It all seemed ok until we pulled the sheets back on one of the beds to obviously dirty sheets. I then look and see pills laying in the corner of the floor. They were prescription. I google imaged them and it was prescription laxative. Glad my infant wasn't crawling around on the floor!!! Never again. I can't believe the hotel is so careless and gross.

Templins Resort has a little of everything..kinda funny, tucked away on the bluff overlooking the Spokane River in Post Falls-just a stones throw from the Dam. The hotel is dated, but a nice & clean. We have stayed there on 3 occasions and were satisfied everytime. Breakfast in bed is really nice and served in a timely manner by the room service squad. The pool is nice, and hot tub is a little small but is good enough. Towels are available and I think theyre are showers by the pool for customers too. There's a nice full bar, pool table and live entertainment scheduled. Next to the bar is a fully functional restaurant. I ate there once or twice-it was OK. The marina is a nice change, lots of boat slips available to lease for the summer to park your boat on the river. The bar & grill is nice, and they have a paddle boat for scheduled dinner tours for folks! Gas pumps at the docks to fuel up if you are on the water. Marina customers have access to a nice private sandy beach with horse shoe pits and volley ball courts.

Didn't stay In a room but went over with some visiting friends for something to eat and drink. We waited a while for the bus boy to bring water but for 30 minutes that is all we saw . No waitress or bar tenter to be found. There was probably 30 people in the place. The poor bus boy apologize to us several times. We finally just got up and left! Live in town here will never be back to this joint again!!!

The first time I stayed at this red lion, it was pleasant. The hotel was in better condition several years ago and the private beach area is the best part about it. However my latest visit was terrible. The room had two non-working phones; the pool was filthy and full of sediment; the hot tub was so hot you could barely get in; the vending room said it had games but it did not and the food in the vending machines looked really old and stale (the soda machine had filthy display cans in it and looked like it came from the 90s). The restaurant was awful. We ordered a salad and requested no green onions, it came out with green onions despite the waitress saying they were remaking it. My "shrimp cocktail" came with little frozen shrimp (I bit into ice). Not to mention the prices were extremely high (11 dollars for shrimp cocktail). The manager did not charge us for the meal, and offered us something else but who would want anything more from this kitchen? At check out I told them of all the issues that I encountered and was given 40 dollars off of the TWO HUNDRED dollar room. I feel this room was not worth more than 80 dollars. I then received an email asking me to complete a customer satisfaction survey, to which I AGAIN outlined all the problems with my stay. I received a generic response with an "apology" for the less than pleasant experience, to which hey thanked me for my input and to have a nice day. Basically they did nothing to handle the situation. I will never stay at a red lion hotel ever again.

My first ever stay at a Red Lion. This really was a drag in at the last minute and fall over night for me so I can't really speak to the hotel services other than front desk/registration - courteous and efficient - and the room itself. I found the room to be very welcoming and clean and neat and the bed to be quite comfortable. I was not disturbed by sounds from other other rooms and since the hotel is set by the river off the main road there was no traffic noise. The structure has been there a while so don't expect a chrome and glass monstrosity with fountains and flowers scattered hither and there. You can expect a good sleep for a good price. Unless you're looking for resort service you should be pleased with the Templin.

Wanted a romantic get away, paid extra for the King suite that I was told had a sliding glass door open to a patio. I was put in the basement with a metal door that opens to outside, a lumpy mattress... What a wast.

With a house full of people we decided to try the Red Lion. The front desk person was pleasant. We received an upgrade room and initially excited for a room with a view of the river. That is where it ended. The room appeared nice, but only on the surface. There was a tampon wrapper piece left on the floor is the bathroom. No regular coffee was in the room. The shower was not working correctly, no spray just water coming out of the center with little pressure. There was something gross on the wall of the shower. Not sure the last time this room was cleaned. We attempted breakfast the next morning and ended up walking out. The biscuits and gravy was disgusting. Only one biscuit cut in two and the gravy looked like someone threw up chunks of something all over it. I ordered poached hard eggs and receive fried hard eggs. My husband also ordered poached hard eggs and received poached light eggs. We sent them back and my husband received the same plate back. Do not go here!! The front desk people are awesome but everyone else is lacking.

I like it! 1st night wasn't sure; AC didn't work, had a musty moldy smell that killed my allergies. Talked to front desk next morning. & they put us in a newer updated room. Much!!!!! Better! Breakfast pancakes! Are huge & awesome! Thursday nights they have some sort of BBQ music thing out on the lawn near the water. We didn't go, checked in to late. Sound cool.

Looked at the pictures online and thought I scored a deal with only spending $30 more per night than a local motel. Got there, the lobby was beautiful, then they assigned me to a room, which was not even connected to the beautiful lobby. It was dark and dreery and very unkept. Opened my door only to be welcomed with the familiar smell of mold coming at me. Asked them for a new room, which was not a problem, and gave me one 2 doors down. Was tolerable first day, but after returning from a long day at Silverwood, the mold smell was there. All of us got headaches. The beds were comfortable, the pool was fridgid cold to the point where nobody could even swim. Not worth it!

Thursday night's BBQ at the Marina is not to be missed! You get a great dinner with a dollop of Blues from the great SAMMY EUBANKS!!! I love Thursday nights at Templins in Post Falls.

Kinda in the middle of nowhere, but it is right along the Spokane River. It's probably nicer in the summer when they have the riverboat and the tennis and volleyball courts open, but I was there in the winter. Lobby was cozy though with a stone-surrounded fireplace. Huge picture window looked out over the river as well.
